Captured moments – fragments of daily life
On Computer Graphics in Art and beyond
Computer technology is changing the world and people in it. It requires unconditional interaction which goes beyond the physical contact of an individual with the computer. Scores of isolated people the planet over are transformed into a community which employs the information technology to connect, learn and increasingly recognise that our collective survival depends on mutual consideration, dialogue and search for consensus on a growing body of issues.
Introduction of computer technology into all aspects of our lives reduces the significance of technical issues dealing with »how« things are accomplished, and increases the significance of »what« is being accomplished. Contemporary documentation techniques (photography, TV, video, etc.), ever growing body of information and apparent possibilities intensify the human quest for orientation, correct choice and adherence to the chosen course.
Under these circumstances, the art, and visual art in particular, has an opportunity to use computer technology to affirm its leading role by moving even further away from once uninvolved craftsmanship of illustration and societal documentation toward an engaged, active role of objectifying real causes for social changes, toward becoming a contemporary commentator and harbinger of change.
I was born in Belgrade. I live and work in the European Union, in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. I am an architect by profession, but have undertaken painting and sculpting in clay to enrich my ability to express my creativity in a more direct way. I have held several independent exhibitions across Slovenia.
In the last three years, I have been intensely engaged in artistic painting using computer graphics.
The gallery you entered displays some of my work compiled under a title »Captured moments – fragments of daily life«.
I am happy to be sharing them with you!
